Sr. Regent Message - September 2017

I can’t believe it’s September already. I would like to thank everyone who donated to our

Cheyenne Moose Lodge

“Back to School” supply boxes. We ended up by giving over three big boxes to Needs Inc.! Please drive carefully and remember that the little ones are out there and it doesn’t take much for one of them to run in front of a vehicle. Be cautious and watch!

The State Conference went very well. We had approximately 100 in attendance. The meals were wonderful! I would like to send a special thank you to Kelli Adkison, Terri Moye and all of the kitchen crew for a job well done. You will see lots of pictures and stories in the “Happenings” section of this newsletter.

I don’t know if all of you have seen it, but I would like to thank Mel Darby and Rob- ert Kortum for the mural they did for me in the Kid’s Room. What a wonderful job. I have inserted the picture below. When you see them, please give them a big thanks. (By the way, Mel’s son Dustin helped too1) Thanks Dustin!

Thank you so so much.

This month we have many wonderful things going on. One sad thing is that there will no longer be Prime Rib. We will see what we can come up with in place of it though. Stay tuned,,,,,, There will still be the Taco Night’s, Burger Nights, Chicken Night, Moose Legion Fun Night and Birthday Steaks. So, please come out and support your lodge!

There will be a Membership Appreciation BBQ on Labor Day, along with a Horseshoe Tournament. See the calendar for details. Also, On Friday, September 29th, we will be having an Oktoberfest Fundraiser. Please join us and help support this important cause.

Definition of volunteer a person who voluntarily undertakes or expresses a willingness to undertake a service: such as a : one who en- ters into military service voluntarily b (1) : one who renders a service or takes part in a transaction while having no legal concern or interest (2) : one who receives a conveyance or transfer of property without giving valuable consideration

When you volunteer to help with anything, please remember that you are doing this because you believe in the person or association you are helping. Do not do it with the thought that “there will something in it for me” or “ I can promote myself by volunteering”. Do it out of the love and kindness in your heart!

Thank you,

Vera Lightfoot
