November 2018

A Message From Your New Administrator

Hello, my name is Dean Straub, I have been appointed by your Board of Officers as the new Administrator. Many of you may already know me and for the one’s I haven’t met yet I look forward to meeting you. I would like to start out with saying Thank You to the Board of Officers for giving me this opportunity to work for the Lodge and for it’s Members. I have been a member of the Cheyenne Moose Lodge 257 since July of 1990 and the Moose Legion since 2006. If anybody has any questions about the Lodge, Moose Legion, Mooseheart or Moosehaven please just stop by and ask, if I don’t have an answer I will sure try to get you one. One of our first order of business is the Board and I would like you to come to a Special Meeting on Monday November 5th at 6pm The lodge storage is bursting at the seams with old tables and chairs, the old bingo boards and machine and other misc. items that we need the approval of our members to dispose of and or sell. Please come out and be a part of the decisions of the Lodge. I look forward to working with the Board of officers and all our Members to making our Lodge a great place.

Thank You; Fraternally Dean Straub, Administrator.

November 17th @ 12noon - Float Workday

November 24th - Christmas Parade

Members...ever wonder what to do with all of those Box Tops and Soup labels?? Well, you can donate them to the Moosehaven/Mooseheart programs!! Just look for the Box Top/Soup Label box in the social quarters to donate these items. There are also several other ways to help support our Charities, as pictured below. If you shop at Target, just let them know you are shopping to support Moosehaven/Mooseheart! For all of you Coca-cola drinkers, save those points! Below is just an example of what saving these items can do.

Through the efforts of Lodges and Chapters all over the country, Mooseheart has accumulated 173,709 points toward awards that may include televisions, sports equipment, computers, musical instruments and books. The ini al hope was that our effort would reach 1.5 million points, redeemable for a minivan. Although that goal may seem a bit out of reach at the moment, members are encouraged to continue to clip Campbell product labels and send them in.

Governor's Message

As your new governor, I just want to say Thank you for giving me this opportunity to aid in making the lodge a better place.

This month we have a lot going on inside the lodge. Legion fun night, Jenga tournament, and birthday steaks to name a few . We will also be doing a Christmas parade. We would love to have parents and kiddos come out to ride on the float. Please contact Mel at 307-274-6903 or myself.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving this year. We will be having Thanksgiving diner at the lodge on Nov. 18th.

Your governor,

William Baldwin

Message From Your Senior Regent

Co-Workers,

Happy Fall to All. Thank you to EVERYONE for making our Founders Day such a huge success. It was a wonderful day and we made some wonderful new friends that will hopefully decide to become members.

We are having a Cribbage Tournament on the 10th of this month which should be an entertaining time! Don’t forget that the women of the Moose are selling Nuts again this year. We will try to be here for all meals so you can pick up your favorite treat! Also the Women are selling chances to win a Lifetime Membership to the WOTM. Men can buy a “line” and give their win to the Lady of their choice. In addition we are discounting renewal fees if you renew or join for two years. Renew for two years for $40.00, or new members pay for two years for $60.00. The fees have to be paid directly to our chapter, not online or in the mail, to get the discount.

Don’t forget that we will be having our Thanksgiving Dinner on the 18th. I hope that everyone can come down and join us for a scrumptious turkey dinner! Oh, and we will be accepting pie donations thru the 15th of November.

See you at the Lodge! Laura Pate Senior Regent
