Third Annual Fishing Contest

Rules

  1. All of the WY Game & Fish Regulations concerning fishing, aquatic invasive species (AIS) and boating regulations must be followed. Anyone violating these Rules will be disqualified immediately from the contest

  2. All fishermen must obtain a WY fishing license and conservation stamp.

  3. Any contestant’s watercraft coming from out of the State of Wyoming is required to undergo a mandatory inspection by an authorized aquatic evasive species inspector prior to launching. Participants violating that regulation will be disqualified immediately from the contest.

  4. “Culling is not permitted.” The decision to release a fish or keep it for contest entry must be made immediately. Once on a stringer or in a live well then it can no longer be released. Participants violating this Rule will be disqualified immediately from the contest.

  5. Fishing time will start at 6:00 a.m. on May 20, 2017 and end at 2:00 p.m. the same day.

  6. Contestants will be disqualified if cited for any violation of WY Game & Fish: Fishing, Boating or AIS regulations while participating in the contest. While participation is defined as 6:00 p.m. the day prior to the start of day of contest.

  7. All daily fishing limits and length size applies to the lake during the contest.

  8. Check-in time will begin 5:00 a.m. on May 20, 2017. There is no expiration time for check-in.

  1. Check-out time will be at 2:00 p.m. on the same day. Contestants must check-in and be back at weight station by 2:00 p.m. Anyone after 2:00 p.m. will be disqualified.

  2. Check-in for contestants will be at Gate 1 at Gray Rocks Reservoir on May 20, 2017 starting at 5:00 a.m. and commence the rest of the day. Early check-in may occur between 5:00-8:00 p.m. on May 19, 2017. Boats will need to be inspected prior to fishing on the morning of May 20, 2017.

  3. Entry fee of $20 per person will be paid upon entry time at check-in. Early check-in may be done between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on May 19, 2017 at Gray Rocks Reservoir at Gate 1. Contestants registering early may be met with individually for explanation of the Rules so that they are understood and followed.

  4. The person (all age categories) with the biggest walleye by weight will receive the highest payout.

  1. Adult Category: $20 entry fee. Prize to be given for the biggest (by weight) of each:

  4. Teen’s Category: For ages 13 -19. $10 entry fee. Prize to be given for the biggest (by weight) of each:

  1. Youth Category: For ages 12 and under. $5 entry fee. Prize to be given for the biggest (by weight) of each:

  4. There will be a special prize awarded for the person harvesting the largest carp by weight (all age categories included).
